Convert any image to a vector image in under 3 minutes

 I recently discovered VectorMagic, a website tool that will convert almost any image into vector format in under 3 minutes. Vector format images allow you to increase the size of your image to any size without pixilating it.

Most image formats like JPEG and GIF are represented as pixels. Each pixel in the image stores digital numbers representing brightness and color. As you increase the size of the image, your software has to create new pixels and it estimates the color values of the new pixels based on the surrounding pixels…thus the image becomes pixilated.

Vector image formats contain a geometric description which can be rendered smoothly at ANY desired display size. Vector images are usually created in an application called Illustrator. To convert a JPEG image to a vector based image, one has to trace the image with a Pen tool in Illustrator. This takes a long time, depending on the details of your image.

That is why when I first came across VectorMagic, I was skeptical at first and decided to test it right away.

Excel provides many ways to count cells in a range that meet various criteria:

The DCOUNT function. The data must be set up in a table, and a separate criterion range is required.
The COUNT function. Simply counts the number of cells in a range that contain a number.
The COUNTA function. Counts the number of non-empty cells in a range.
The COUNTBLANK function. Counts the number of empty cells in a range.
The COUNTIF function. Very flexible, but often not quite flexible enough.
An array formula. Useful when the other techniques won't work.

Thomas Brooks: Thomas Brooks (1608–1680) was an English non-conformist Puritan preacher and author. Much of what is known about Thomas Brooks has been ascertained from his writings. Born, likely to well-to-do parents, in 1608, Brooks entered Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1625, where he was preceded by such men as Thomas Hooker, John Cotton, and Thomas Shepard. He was licensed as a preacher of the Gospel by 1640. Before that date, he appears to have spent a number of years at sea, probably as a chaplain with the fleet.

In the Allow box, click List.
To specify the location of the list of valid entries, do one of the following:

If the list is in the current worksheet, enter a reference to your list in the Source box.
If the list is on a different worksheet in the same workbook or a different workbook, enter the name that you defined for your list in the Source box.

In both cases, make sure that the reference or name is preceded with an equal sign (=). For example, enter =ValidDepts.

Make sure that the In-cell drop-down check box is selected.
To specify whether the cell can be left blank, select or clear the Ignore blank check box.

Deleting a Range Name: To find unnecessary/unwanted range Names:

1. Select a cell in a new sheet.
2. Press F3 and click Paste List. A full list of range names and their references is pasted into the new sheet; delete each of the unwanted Name.

To delete a range Name:

I've found installing ttf-mscorefonts-installer THEN lubuntu-restricted-extras normally solves just about all codec issues.

ttf-mscorefonts-installer can be a little awkward to install, so here's the instructions ..

Open a terminal (Ctrl Alt T) and run:

sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

at some point the terminal will turn blue telling you you need to accept a licence, with at the bottom ..
hit the Tab key so the is highlighted red .. hit the Enter key ..
the next screen will have , again hit the Tab key so is highlighted red .. and hit the Enter key.

It will now install.

When that's finished, install lubuntu-restricted-extras with:

sudo apt-get install lubuntu-restricted-extras

Now try playing your sound file
